Recipe from Playgroup Victoria

Ingredients

  • 1 cup flour

  • 1/2 cup salt

  • 1 tbsp. cream of tartar

  • 2 tbsp. oil

  • 1 cup boiling water, with colouring added if desired

Steps

  1. Mix all the dry ingredients.

  2. Add the boiling water and oil.

  3. Stir into a dough.

  4. Knead gently until smooth.

I found this recipe in a leaflet at my local children and family centre. It appeals to me as it's sustainable, compostable, and can be made from simple household ingredients. There was some of it ready-made when I was there last, and glitter had been added to it for the festive season. It looked really nice.

Fortunately, home-compostable glitter is now a thing, too!
