The Catholic Filipina is a personal project I began in 2019. As a returned Catholic trying to meaningfully practice my faith, I grew increasingly frustrated looking for resources online to help me understand, live, and enrich my faith through daily piety.

Many sites and pages tend to focus too much on mystical devotion or motivational Scripture, and I felt that while the tradition was kept alive by many individuals in full communion, they happened to be overseas, particularly in North America, where cultural practices and even the liturgical year and celebrations did not quite match my circumstances.

What does it mean to be Catholic? In particular, a Catholic woman, or a Catholic wife? To answer these questions is to confront my own values, principles, and outlook in life. I hope that my site, in its myriad ways, can answer these questions for anyone who might visit—whether you're someone like me or just someone curious.

Although I no longer live in the Philippines, I spent thirty years of my life calling it home, and never resided elsewhere. I am ethnically and culturally Filipina, hence the second part of my site name.
